Phoenix SDS Signs MOU for Nepal |
| |
On Thursday January 11, 2010 Phoenix SDS signed a MOU with Comfort Housing Pvt Ltd. with the purpose to promote the use of K Block Lightweight Concrete in Nepal and help/ service other companies in Nepal who want to open a K Block Lightweight Concrete block plant.
In 2009, Comfort Housing Pvt Ltd., under the leadership of Mr. Om Rajbhandary, opened a K Block Lightweight Concrete block plant in Kathmandu, Nepal. After receiving training at Phoenix SDS’s Thailand office and block plant, and in Nepal, Comfort Housing was able to produce a quality lightweight block from the very first day of operation.
K Block Lightweight Blocks produced at Comfort Housing’s plant were used in their own projects. In addition to the superior insulation, sound and fire ratings compared to the locally used bricks, the use of K Block Lightweight Block had an immediate impact – a significant increase in construction speed – with walls being built far faster that using bricks.
Mr. Om Rajbhandary said that the MOU represents the next step in the relationship between Phoenix SDS Ltd. and Comfort Housing Pvt. Ltd. Seeing the benefits of using K Block lightweight blocks themselves and operating their own K Block Lightweight Block plant, Comfort Housing will begin to actively promote K Block Technology throughout Nepal and help others that wish to open a K Block Lightweight Block plant.
Having an operational K Block Lightweight Block plant, Comfort Housing will be able help provide other companies with a high level of locally available service (saving both time and money) – services such as: production training, technical support, and spare parts/ raw materials supply.
With the help of Comfort Housing Pvt. Ltd., Phoenix SDS envisions that others in Nepal will soon be making K Block Lightweight Blocks as quickly and easily as Comfort Housing did; providing new projects with a cost effective, superior performance lightweight building material.
